i kinda felt like the whole point of going ahead and letting derpy being a little slow and unlucky was to
oh i dunno
provide a positive portrayal of a “less than perfect” character to let kids know that it was ok to be quirky and odd
i thought derpy was perfect just as she was :\
word.

Apparently Derpy’s voice actress was under the impression she was voicing a male character. Thus the voice.
But yeah, I totally agree! It’s good to have a character like her on the show.
